Mount Baker Rock and Gem Club Members Only SALE:

A large donation was received from a former FL jeweler moving overseas. 2 truck loads including a jewelers bench, tools, tanks, cabs, stones, faceted jewels, etc. Therefore, we have exciting news about a MEMBERS-ONLY sale at the Gerard’s on Saturday, May 10th. 10 am. Bring cash!

Location: 1371 Paradise Rd., Ferndale, WA 98248.

After this event, a second-chance sale will be offered Saturday, May 31st, also at 10 am at the Gerard’s.

Leftover items from this sale may be offered to other clubs, etc.

Rockhound Rendezvous Sale, Sept. 14

The club’s Rockhound Rendezvous sale will be on   Saturday, September 14, 2024 from  9-5 at the Pioneer Pavilion, 2007 Cherry St, Ferndale, WA. This sale is when club members offer their rock-related items (crystals, jewelry, tools, petrified wood, etc.) for sale to the public. Please bring cash as many members cannot take cards or checks. Some members can take cards.

Rockhound Sale 2.0, and Field Trip 6/22

Hello ‘Hounds,

I have a message from our President, Candi Gerard:

We will be making another trip to the Rockhound Sale in North Whatcom County on Saturday, June 22nd at 10 am.  Please RSVP to Candi at 360-366-0121, as the number of attendees is limited.

For those who RSVP, meet at the Gerard’s (1371 Paradise Rd, Ferndale, WA 98248) on Saturday at 10 am to carpool/ convoy to the location.

Daniel Doering is leading another field trip the same day, this Saturday, June 22nd on Bailey Trail to source Rainbow Chert. To participate, meet at the Verlot ranger station at 9 am to convoy to the dig (~90 minute commute.)

Bring a chisel, small crowbar, crack hammer, rock hammer. Gloves, buckets, eye protection, etc.

(If anyone has a large sledge hammer, that would be useful as well.)

This is hard rock mining, but there is a lot of material to collect just off the road as well, so all skill levels are welcome to attend!

Auction at October meeting

The October General Meeting is the annual auction and fundraiser for the club. Bring cash or check! There is no show and tell this month.

Location is at the Pioneer Pavilion Community Center, 2007 Cherry St, Ferndale.

Please bring donations of rocks and rock-hobby related items the night of the auction. Bring cash or check for your winning bids!

You do not need to be a member to bid or donate. Guests are welcome.

The money from the auction goes toward the WWU scholarship fund and club activities.

For Sale: July 11

A sale of lapidary equipment and rocks will be held on July 11 between 11 AM and 2:30 PM at 906 N Shore Drive in Bellingham.
