Due to very limited parking at the site, we will need to carpool, so there is an RSVP sign-up required for this trip.<br>After reading the details, if you want to attend this trip,\u00a0<strong>please send me (<\/strong>Seren Fargo, rocknbeetle@gmail.com) <strong>your name and phone number and answers to the following questions by Wednesday, Sept. 25.<\/strong>  <strong>For questions, contact Seren 360-671-0286<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Can you can carry other passengers?<br>If so, how many passengers?<br>Are you willing to be a passenger yourself? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We will meet at Bloedel-Donovan Park by the main building at 11:00 am and head out no later than 11:15 am.<br>I will pass out maps when we meet.<br>It is about 80 miles to the site. Once there, there is little walking necessary. However, if you collect in the creek rather than up-top, there is a short, but steepish embankment to get down.<br>No permits necessary for this site.<br>There are no facilities at this site, but there is a porta-potty at a campground on the way there (within a mile).<br>Pets not recommended on this trip as we will be carpooling and there are some unfriendly dogs at a property across the street.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>&#8212; Bucket(s) for rocks<\/li><li>&#8212; Rock hammer and chisel(s) &#8211; Rocks can also be collected from the creek without digging<\/li><li>&#8212; Goggles if you&#8217;re hammering<\/li><li>&#8212; Good shoes or boots &#8211; For collecting in creek, you may want rubber boots or such with good grip for mossy rocks<\/li><li>&#8212; Appropriate clothing for weather (layer for changes in weather) &#8211; it could be cold and the creek is very cold (can keep hands warmer in creek by wearing cloth gloves with larger rubber gloves over them)<\/li><li>&#8212; Change of socks\/shoes if you go in creek and get wet<\/li><li>&#8212; Hand towel (once again, if you&#8217;re in the creek) <\/li><li>&#8212; Food and Water<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"3734\" height=\"2983\" src=\"http:\/\/mtbakerrockclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1-DSC04701.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-315\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mtbakerrockclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1-DSC04701.jpg 3734w, https:\/\/mtbakerrockclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1-DSC04701-300x240.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mtbakerrockclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1-DSC04701-768x614.jpg 768w, https:\/\/mtbakerrockclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1-DSC04701-1024x818.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><figcaption>Garnierite<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There is a field trip scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 29 to Marblemount in Skagit County for garnierite, a nickelite.
