{"id":409,"date":"2019-12-12T11:31:40","date_gmt":"2019-12-12T19:31:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mtbakerrockclub.org\/?p=409"},"modified":"2020-01-07T16:27:00","modified_gmt":"2020-01-08T00:27:00","slug":"minutes-of-board-meeting-december-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mtbakerrockclub.org\/?p=409","title":{"rendered":"Minutes of Board Meeting, December, 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n\nThe meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by President Candi Gerard.&nbsp; In attendance:&nbsp; Deb and Wes Gannaway, Gordy Gerard, Michael Langley, Ralph Sisco, and Linda Mitchell.&nbsp; The meeting was held at Deb and Wes\u2019 home in Ferndale.&nbsp; Candi welcomed Ralph to the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Secretary\u2019s Report:&nbsp; The minutes were approved from last month as printed in the newsletter and on the website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Treasurer\u2019s Report:&nbsp; Members need to renew their dues by December 31st.&nbsp; A report of the club members is due to the NFMS by January 1st.&nbsp; Western Washington University sent a thank you for the $500 donation the club sent to the Geology Department.&nbsp; The 2020 budget was reviewed and discussed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Membership:&nbsp; There was one renewal received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Federation:&nbsp; No report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wagonmaster:&nbsp; No report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Library:&nbsp; No report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Washington State Mineral Council (WSMC):&nbsp; The last field trip in 2019 was on November 16 to Blanchard Mountain near Bellingham.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Parks:&nbsp; No report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lapidary Room Committee:&nbsp; No report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Education Committee:&nbsp; No report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2020 Show:&nbsp; If anyone has polished rock, it is needed for the show.&nbsp; There are 3 locations being reviewed by the board for possible venues for the show beginning in 2021.&nbsp; More information will be forthcoming.&nbsp; Beginning in January, a volunteer is needed to oversee the critter making party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Old Business:&nbsp; The Christmas party is scheduled for December 16, 2019.&nbsp; We will begin to set up at 6:30 pm and plan to eat at 7:00 pm.&nbsp; The board discussed the Christmas tree, decorations, and cooking the turkey and ham.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New Business:&nbsp; Donated to the club by an anonymous donor were 45 clear coffee cups engraved with the rock club\u2019s insignia.&nbsp; The board voted on selling the cups for $5 each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next Board Meeting will be on January 6, 2020, 6:30 pm, held at the WECU in Ferndale, Exit 262.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meeting adjourned at 8:14 pm &#8212; Respectfully submitted by Linda Mitchell\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by President Candi Gerard.&nbsp; In attendance:&nbsp; Deb and Wes Gannaway, Gordy Gerard, Michael Langley, Ralph Sisco, and Linda Mitchell.&nbsp; The meeting was held at Deb and Wes\u2019 home in Ferndale.&nbsp; Candi welcomed Ralph to the meeting.
