{"id":591,"date":"2021-07-23T10:44:00","date_gmt":"2021-07-23T17:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mtbakerrockclub.org\/?p=591"},"modified":"2021-07-23T10:44:00","modified_gmt":"2021-07-23T17:44:00","slug":"minutes-of-the-general-meeting-on-july-19-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mtbakerrockclub.org\/?p=591","title":{"rendered":"Minutes of the General Meeting on July 19, 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Secretary:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0February 2020 was the last meeting, and the minutes were approved.\u00a0 There will be a July Newsletter published NLT July 30\u00a0<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/li><li><strong>Treasurer\u2019s Report:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Deb provided a report.\u00a0 The club\u2019s mall store is holding its own.<\/li><li><strong>Membership:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Wes reported there have been 61 families signed up for membership since the mall opened in November.<\/li><li><strong>Library:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>There are books available to be checked out by members.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Wagonmaster:\u00a0 Volunteer is needed.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Washington State Mineral Council (WSMC)\/Federation:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Michael reported on a Mineral Council field trip in August to Greenwater.\u00a0 Note:\u00a0 Here is the link to field trips,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/mineralcouncil.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/04\/2021-rock-activities.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">2021-rock-activities.pdf (wordpress.com)<\/a><\/li><li><strong>Lapidary Room Committee: \u00a0<\/strong>Glenn reported the lapidary room is open Thursdays, 6-9 pm.\u00a0 Signup is at the mall store and you must prepay.\u00a0 Limit of 4 people. \u00a0First come, first serve.\u00a0 There are rules for you to read.\u00a0 Must be a member to use the lapidary equipment.\u00a0 Cost is $10.\u00a0 The mall store opened so the club could have the lapidary room open again.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>2021 Show:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>The show will be held on September 11th and 12th at the Ferndale Community Center located at 2007 Cherry Street in front of Pioneer Park. The hours are 10 to 6 on Saturday and 10 to 5 on Sunday.\u00a0 Set up for the show will be September 10.\u00a0 We will need all to volunteer to help set up, run the silent auction, spinning wheel, raffle, club sales, and the front table.\u00a0 Members can sign up for a display case to display their rock collections. Volunteering for the show is a good way to get to know the members, learn more about rocks, and have fun.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Volunteers Needed:<\/strong>  1) <strong><em>Librarian:<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 There is a library of books for members to check out.\u00a0 The duties would include bringing the books to each general meeting, displaying on a table, and maintaining the list of books checked out\/checked in.\u00a0 \u00a0At the end of the meeting, packing up the books and taking home.\u00a0 2) <strong><em>Wagonmaster:<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 Organize field trips for members of the club.\u00a0 Find rockhounding locations, schedule date and time to meet, and provide list of tools, etc. 3) <strong>Rockhound Rendezvous POC:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>The Rockhound Rendezvous (RR) is a venue for members to sell their rocks and rock-related items.\u00a0 The duties include scheduling the date and time, advertising, signing members up for tables, and determine needs at the venue, i.e., tables and chairs, etc.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next meeting will be August 23 which is one week later than normal.\u00a0 Time and location to be determined.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Snacks for Aug 23 Meeting:\u00a0 Bonnie Keel and Linda Mitchell <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Meeting adjourned<\/strong>\u00a0at 7:40 pm\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Respectfully submitted by Linda Mitchell<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Secretary:\u00a0\u00a0February 2020 was the last meeting, and the minutes were approved.\u00a0 There will be a July Newsletter published NLT July 30\u00a0th.
