Secretary’s Report:<\/strong>\u00a0 The minutes of the last meeting on October 4, 2021, were approved.\u00a0<\/p>\n Treasurer\u2019s Report:<\/strong>\u00a0 Deb reported on the bills and income.<\/p>\n Membership:\u00a0 <\/strong>There were two new members this week.<\/p>\n Federation:\u00a0 <\/strong>No report.<\/p>\n Wagonmaster (Field Trip) Report:\u00a0 <\/strong>There are no field trips scheduled.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong>Washington State Mineral Council (WSMC): \u00a0<\/strong>On November 13, the field trip is to Blanchard Mt for Stilpnomelane.\u00a0 Meet at the Gas Mart, I-5 Exit 240 at 9:00 am.\u00a0 This is in our local area.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong>Lapidary Report:\u00a0 <\/strong>The lapidary room is open for members on Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm.\u00a0 Members must sign up and prepay $10.\u00a0 If no one prepays, it will be closed.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong>Show 2022:\u00a0 <\/strong>Bonnie Keel will co-chair with Wes Gannaway.\u00a0 It\u2019s time to start planning the March 26-27, 2022, show.\u00a0 We will need to arrange for a food truck.\u00a0 A volunteer is needed under 70 years old to rent\/drive the truck to haul the show items from storage to the venue and back to storage.\u00a0 \u00a0Todd Folsom is checking with WWU about the scholarship the club gives to a geology student.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong>Old Business:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong>Election: <\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>It is time for the election of officers.\u00a0 We are asking members for nominations for President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Federation, Wagonmaster, and Directors at Large.\u00a0 If you are interested, please contact any board member.\u00a0<\/p>\n Volunteers:<\/em>\u00a0 Volunteers are needed for Wagonmaster (Field Trips), Librarian, and Mall Store Helpers.\u00a0 If we do not get any volunteers, we will no longer have these activities\/events until someone volunteers.<\/p>\n Annual Dues:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/em>Annual dues are due in the month of October.\u00a0 Members will be notified by email and on Facebook.<\/p>\n New Business:<\/strong><\/p>\n Volunteer:\u00a0 <\/em>There is a need for a qualified person to help man the lapidary room on open lap night.\u00a0 They must be experienced in lapidary.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em>Rockhound Rendezvous (RR): \u00a0<\/em>Sharon Geleynse has volunteered with Michael Langley helping.\u00a0 At the November meeting, Sharon will check to see if any members are interested in selling their rocks and rock hobby related items.\u00a0 If there is interest, the event will be scheduled.<\/p>\n Mall Contract:\u00a0 <\/em>The contract is being worked and will be signed soon for the location at Bellis Fair Mall.<\/p>\n November General Meeting Program:\u00a0 <\/em>Members can bring one rock of their choosing to share with the membership and\/or ask for identification.<\/p>\n December Meeting:\u00a0 <\/em>We will not have our annual potluck this year.\u00a0 There will be a gift exchange for those that would like to participate.\u00a0 Bring a gift, get a gift.\u00a0 The limit of the gift is $10.<\/p>\n Rock Tumbling Class:\u00a0 <\/em>At the Jansen Art Center, there will be a rock tumbling class in January.\u00a0 The class instructor will be Glenn Ishihara.\u00a0 More information will be forthcoming.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong>The next Board Meeting is on December 6, 2021, 6:00 pm, at <\/strong>Bellis Fair Mall, Space 424.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n Meeting adjourned at 7:15 pm<\/p>\n Respectfully submitted by Linda Mitchell<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm by President Candi Gerard at Bellis Fair Mall, Space 424.\u00a0 In attendance: \u00a0Deb and Wes Gannaway, Ralph Sisco, Bonnie Keel, Gordy Gerard, Michael Langley, Sharon Geleynse, Glenn Ishihara, and Linda Mitchell. \u00a0\u00a0Masks were worn by all.
