{"id":767,"date":"2022-07-28T20:00:17","date_gmt":"2022-07-29T03:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mtbakerrockclub.org\/?p=767"},"modified":"2022-07-28T20:00:17","modified_gmt":"2022-07-29T03:00:17","slug":"general-meeting-minutes-may-16-2022-mt-baker-rock-gem-club","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mtbakerrockclub.org\/?p=767","title":{"rendered":"<strong>General Meeting Minutes<\/strong><strong>, May 16, 2022, Mt Baker Rock &amp; Gem Club<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The meeting was called to order by Candi Gerard, 7 pm, at Pioneer Pavilion Community Center, 2007 Cherry St, Ferndale.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Secretary&#8217;s Report:<\/strong>\u00a0 The April 18, 2022, minutes were approved.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Treasurer\u2019s Report: <\/strong>\u00a0No report.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Membership:<\/strong>\u00a0 No report.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Federation:\u00a0 <\/strong>Michael reported that the Federation Show will be held September 30-October 2, 2022, in Hillsborough, Oregon.\u00a0 The Federation Show schedule is also posted at the club\u2019s retail store.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Washington State Mineral Council (WSMC):\u00a0 <\/strong>Michael reported on a field trip on May 21, Marble Mount.\u00a0 Please check the WSMC website for more information about other field trips and where\/when to meet.\u00a0 The website is: \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mineralcouncil.files.wordpress.com\/2022\/01\/fieldtrips_2022-1.pdf\">2022 Trips.pub &#8211; Microsoft Publisher (wordpress.com)<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lapidary Report:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The new co-chairs were introduced, Gordy Gerard and Fred Gustafson. Walt Kulpa is a co-chair as well.<\/li>\n<li>Glenn reported that an Intro class is tomorrow night. Intro classes are held on Tuesdays and are for members new to lapidary to learn about safety, equipment\/tools, and basic lapidary.\u00a0 This class must be taken in order to sign up for open lapidary night.\u00a0 Candi will be taking over as the instructor.<\/li>\n<li>Open Lapidary night is on Thursdays, 6-9 pm. Cost is $10.<\/li>\n<li>You must sign up one week in advance and prepay for these classes at the club\u2019s retail store. If you do not prepay, you can get bumped off the list by someone that does pay.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Wagonmaster:\u00a0 <\/strong>Vacant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Show 2023:\u00a0 <\/strong>No report.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Old Business:\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rockhound Recycling Rendezvous (RRR) will be on June 11, Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm. There are still spaces available, 10\u2019x10\u2019, for $20 to sell your rocks and other rock hobby related items.\u00a0 Doors open at 8 am for you to set up.\u00a0 You will need to bring your own tables and food.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>New Business: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Michael reported on a NFMS Junior Achievement Award.
