{"id":773,"date":"2022-07-28T20:22:23","date_gmt":"2022-07-29T03:22:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mtbakerrockclub.org\/?p=773"},"modified":"2023-01-03T18:56:00","modified_gmt":"2023-01-04T02:56:00","slug":"general-meeting-minutes-june-20-2022-mt-baker-rock-gem-club","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mtbakerrockclub.org\/?p=773","title":{"rendered":"General Meeting Minutes, June 20, 2022, Mt Baker Rock &#038; Gem Club"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The meeting was called to order by Candi Gerard, 7 pm, at Pioneer Pavilion Community Center, 2007 Cherry St, Ferndale.\u00a0 Candi welcomed everyone to the meeting.\u00a0 During the break there will be cake for Glenn and Julie Ishihara.\u00a0 They are moving to Hawaii.\u00a0 Glenn has been involved in the club with his knowledge of lapidary, rock tumbling, and always being there to help out.\u00a0 Members were dressed in Hawaiian shirts and leis in honor of Glenn and Julie.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Secretary&#8217;s Report:<\/strong>\u00a0 The May 16, 2022, minutes were approved.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Treasurer\u2019s Report: <\/strong>\u00a0Deb gave a report of the bills.\u00a0 The club appreciates rocks and rock hobby donations to the club.\u00a0 These items can be sold for club sales at the retail store in Bellis Fair Mall.\u00a0 Donations help pay the bills.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Membership:<\/strong>\u00a0 Two new members tonight.\u00a0 There are now 183 family memberships.\u00a0 \u00a0For those new members, please come to the meetings and other activities.\u00a0 Donating your time is always needed and appreciated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Federation:\u00a0 <\/strong>No report.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Washington State Mineral Council (WSMC):\u00a0 <\/strong>No report.<\/p>\n<p>The WSMC has field trips for club members to attend.\u00a0 Please check the WSMC website for the schedule and information about the field trips, where\/when to meet.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mineralcouncil.files.wordpress.com\/2022\/06\/fieldtrips_2022.pdf\">https:\/\/mineralcouncil.files.wordpress.com\/2022\/06\/fieldtrips_2022.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Lapidary Report:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Open Lapidary night is on Thursdays, 6-9 pm. Cost is $10.\u00a0 You must sign up one week in advance and prepay at the club\u2019s retail store.\u00a0 If you do not prepay, you can get bumped off the list by someone that does pay.<\/li>\n<li>Those taking over the lapidary room have been taking notes from Glenn before he leaves for Hawaii.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Wagonmaster:\u00a0 <\/strong>Vacant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Show 2023:\u00a0 <\/strong>No report.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Old Business:\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Rockhound Recycling Rendezvous (RRR) was on June 11.
