{"id":784,"date":"2022-07-28T20:42:16","date_gmt":"2022-07-29T03:42:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mtbakerrockclub.org\/?p=784"},"modified":"2023-01-03T18:55:30","modified_gmt":"2023-01-04T02:55:30","slug":"general-meeting-minutes-july-18-2022-mt-baker-rock-gem-club","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mtbakerrockclub.org\/?p=784","title":{"rendered":"General Meeting Minutes, July 18, 2022, Mt Baker Rock &#038; Gem Club"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The meeting was called to order by Candi Gerard, 7 pm, at Pioneer Pavilion Community Center, 2007 Cherry St, Ferndale.\u00a0 Candi welcomed everyone to the meeting.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Secretary&#8217;s Report:<\/strong>\u00a0 The June 20, 2022, minutes were approved.\u00a0 There are flyers at the front table about upcoming shows and events.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Treasurer\u2019s Report: <\/strong>\u00a0Deb gave a report of the bills.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Membership:<\/strong>\u00a0 There are 4 new members.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Federation:\u00a0 <\/strong>The Federation show is September 30-October 2, in Hillsboro OR.<\/p>\n<p><strong>W<\/strong><strong>ashington State Mineral Council (WSMC):\u00a0 <\/strong>Field trip July 23-24, Sweetwater for Travertine.<\/p>\n<p>The WSMC has field trips for club members to attend.\u00a0 Please check the WSMC website for the schedule and information about the field trips, where\/when to meet.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mineralcouncil.files.wordpress.com\/2022\/06\/fieldtrips_2022.pdf\">https:\/\/mineralcouncil.files.wordpress.com\/2022\/06\/fieldtrips_2022.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Lapidary Report:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Open lapidary night is on Thursdays, 6-9 pm for members. Cost is $10.\u00a0 You must sign up one week in advance and prepay at the club\u2019s retail store.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>For members to attend open lapidary night, you need to take an Intro class. There is also an upcoming class on beading a cabochon.\u00a0 For more information on classes, sign up, and pre-payment, please go to the club\u2019s retail store in Bellis Fair Mall.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Wagonmaster:\u00a0 <\/strong>Vacant.\u00a0 Need volunteer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Show 2023:\u00a0 <\/strong>The show is March 25-26, 2023, the last full weekend in March.<\/p>\n<p><strong>New Business:\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We are changing the Rockhound Rendezvous from June to the fall. Attendance may be better in the fall.<\/li>\n<li>There are papers at the front table for members to sign to show their interest so we know what direction the club should focus on.<\/li>\n<li>Next month a work party will be scheduled to help go through the rocks for Club Sales.<\/li>\n<li>For the September 19th meeting, Todd Folsom will give a presentation on Geology of Steamboat Rock State Park.<\/li>\n<li>There will be a club picnic\/potluck this year on August 28, at Candi and Gordy Gerard\u2019s, 1371 Paradise Rd, Ferndale.
